PAM HIGHLIGHTS IN BRASIL

The best triathlete from Brazil, Pâmella Oliveira was recently highlighted in the newspaper Folha de São Paulo one of the most popular in Brazil.

In a long article, Pâmella talks about is preparation in the Desmor – Rio Maior Sports Centre, especially about an innovative equipment, a tent for altitude simulation, installed in his room at the Training Centre.

This altitude tent sealed is used to simulate a higher altitude with reduced oxygen. The basic concept of living or training at altitude is to cause the body to adapt to the lower oxygen content by producing more oxygen-carrying red blood cells and hemoglobin. Training or spending time at a higher altitude will cause the body to adapt to the higher altitude and provide enhanced performance when returning to a lower altitude.

During these five years, many athletes from Brazil, but also from other countries such as Chile, New Zealand, England, Russia, Serbia, the Philippines, Ukraine, Spain, have done training seasons in Rio Maior, but Pâmella is the athlete who over the years has created more connection with Rio Maior, where she evens studies at the Rio Maior University of Sports.
