RIO MAIOR RACE WALKERS IN HIGHLIGHTS

On last 3 and 4 March the Rio Maior international race walkers Inês Henriques and João Vieira were highlighted.

Inês Henriques (pictured left) won march from Chihuahua, Mexico, Grand Prix while John Vieira (pictured in black) broke the 50 km portuguese record in Pontevedra, ina competition that assigned titles of Portugal and Spain.

Inês made the 20 kilometer in 1.33,18 hours. This was the second victory in that race. She had already won in 2011.

Susana Feitor (center) had to give up half of the race due to a muscle problem.

In Spain, Joao Vieira, current holder of the national ceiling of 20 km march, accomplished the distance in 3:45:17 hours, significantly improving the previous record of Antonio Pereira, 3:48:12 in Olympic Games in Beijing.
