SPORTS ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND INNOVATION

The Desmor – Rio Maior sports Centre in now the head office of the INSPORTHEALTH platform, for innovation and entrepreneurship is the world of sports and health.

On September 8th, Emídio Guerreiro, Secretary of State of Sport And Youth and the Mayor of Rio Maior, Isaura Morais open this new office in Rio Maior with the presence of many directors of Portuguese sport organizations like the Olympic Committee of Portugal.

Rio Maior gave another important step in his claim as a leading city in the management and innovation of sports. The INSPORTHEALTH (Portuguese platform for innovation in sport & health) is a competence centre that will bring together companies, sports organizations, units of scientific and technological system and higher education institutions, with the main objective to develop actions to improve competitiveness, encouraging the development of innovative products, processes and services.

In Rio Maior the INSPORTHEALTH results of an agreement between the TICE / INSPORTHEALTH the Desmor – Rio Maior Sports Centre and the Rio Maior University of Sports.

After the introduction of INSPORTHEALTH took place in the Sports Centre auditorium one open discussion about economy and sports with the presence of a expert team.  

This event was part of the European Week of Sport that aims to promote sport and physical activity across Europe. The Week is for everyone, regardless of age, background or fitness level. With a focus on grassroots initiatives, it will inspire Europeans to #BeActive on a regular basis and create opportunities in peoples’ everyday lives to exercise more.
