CEBOLA RUN BROUGHT TOGETHER 455 REGISTERED PARTICIPANTS IN ITS SECOND EDITION

The 2nd edition of Cebola Run – Corrida da Nossa Terra took place in Rio Maior on Sunday, September 6, bringing together a total of 455 registered participants on a morning marked by sport and entertainment in the city streets.

The overall winners of the 10 km were Rogério Amaral, in the men's category, and Joana Ferreira, in the women's category, in a race that passed through some of the city's main streets and avenues and included a route through the emblematic Rio Maior Salt Pans. The start and finish took place on Avenida Mário Soares, next to the Multi-Purpose Pavilion.

Also noteworthy, in the men's category, was the 2nd place achieved by Tomás Cerveira, an athlete from Rio Maior, representing Clube de Natação de Rio Maior.

Before the main race, the youngest participants got the sporting morning underway with the Corrida dos Cebolinhas, which brought together more than 80 children and young people, divided into the Bambis, Benjamins, Infantis and Iniciados age groups.

The 10 km race awarded cash prizes to the first three overall finishers, in the men's and women's categories, while also including classifications in the different age groups.

Cebola Run was organized by the Municipality of Rio Maior and Desmor, with the support of several entities and partners who contributed to the success of this second edition.

Special thanks to H2O – Associação de Jovens de Arrouquelas, Ontrisports, McDonald's Rio Maior, the official sponsor of the race, the Guarda Nacional Republicana, the Rio Maior Volunteer Firefighters and athlete Estéfani Gomes, for providing a large cake that helped celebrate this second edition of Cebola Run.
