FIRST DIVISION FOOTBALL IN RIO MAIOR WITH CASA PIA AC

After the Portugueses Football League draw was held on Wednesday (July 5, 23), the day after the Rio maior Sports Centre and Casa Pia AC "kicked off" a sports season that will be a milestone in the life of city ​​of Rio Maior, with the arrival of the portuguese first national football league.

Our Football Stadium will be the home of the historic club from Lisbon, which seeks to cement its presence in the top league of Portuguese football.

Since its inauguration in 1997, the Rio Maior Staddium has been the stage for several games for the national teams, with the presence of the best Portuguese players and also used by other teams, such as Sporting Clube de Portugal - B, which played here for the entire 2012/2013 season, competing in the second league. More recently, it was the home of União Desportiva Vilafranquense, Futebol SAD, since its rise, also to the second league in the 2019/2020 season, until the 2022/2023 season, which ended in last May.

Other national clubs such as Estrela da Amadora, União de Leiria and B-SAD have already resorted to Rio Maior to occasionally play their home games and many others choose Rio Maior regularly to carry out preparation training camps, like Nacional da Madeira, Marítimo, Vitória Sport Clube, Paços de Ferreira, among others who join the national youth teams and international teams, who recognize that they find here the best conditions for preparing for the challenges they face in the professional competitions.

Investments to provide the Stadium with all the necessary conditions, to meet the requirements of Liga Portugal, have been made continuously over the last few years, with the new the CCTV system, with the 4000 seats for the public, among others less visible, in terms of support infrastructure.

Now a new era has arrived, where the Rio maior Sports Centre, the Town Hall of Rio Maior and Casa Pia Atlético Clube will do everything possible to, together, provide the Stadium with all the conditions, starting with the increase in number of seats, which will increase to 7000, leaving the Stadium at its maximum capacity. Lighting will also be reinforced, corresponding to the needs of tv transmissions, while other works are already underway and will now be intensified, so that on August 20th everything will be ready for the first game of the Liga Portugal Betclic in Rio Maior.
