More than 10,000 athletes will compete in the first edition of the Olympic Games in South America. The battle to qualify is still going on and concludes shortly before the Games, when the official list of athletes will be confirmed.
As the Olympics near in Rio de Janeiro, many Portuguese athletes achieved qualifying standards in several events. Once more a significant part of the Portuguese delegation goes from Rio Maior!
Almost 20 people between athletes, coaches and officials, in sports like race walking, swimming and triathlon are from the Desmor – Rio Maior Sports Centre.

From the Desmor – Rio Maior Sports Centre company, Anabela Santos goes as triathlon technical official and Susana Nogueira will be one of the physiotherapist in the Portuguese delegation.
The Rio Maior Sports Centre congratulates and wishes good luck to all these athletes. Their efforts achieved what any high performance athlete aims. What these athletes achieved now is also for us a recognition for our constant work, improving the sports facilities in the Desmor Rio Maior Sports Centre, keeping them in high levels of excellence.
