On June 6th, 2013 the Portuguese Football Federation, the Rio Maior City Council and the Rio Maior Sports Complex signed a protocol for the installation in Rio Maior of a National Football Training Centre.
This partnership aims to support the preparation of all the football, futsal and beach football national teams.
With this new training center the portuguese federation is replaced by a new space to work. The Federation chose Rio Maior because of the hight quality of all the facilities.
The Mayor of Rio Maior, Isaura Morais declared
that "This partnership is an honor for Rio Maior, where we will contribute
to the success of all the football national teams." The President of
Portuguese Football Federation, Fernando Gomes began to declare to be a
"satisfaction and pride this partnership. The Rio Maior Sports Centre now is a
home where all teams can develop their activities, taking up its own space,
administrative and technical."
