On September 4th, another sports season started at Rio Maior High Performance Swimming Centre
Monday 4th sep. was a day of welcoming new resident swimmers, in a session that took place at the Rio Maior Sports Centre, where young swimmers were introduced.
After the ceremony, there was a first lunch at the Sports Centre, followed by a visit and a meeting at the Rio maior High School, and finally, the first training session of the season in the Rio Maior Olympic pool.
This year, the group consists of approximately 20 athletes, with coaching led by Felipe Falcoski and Nuno Ricardo.
This is a flagship project in Portuguese sports, entering its eleventh season, and it has ensured the development and recognition of the best Portuguese swimmers. It is the result of a partnership between the Portuguese Swimming Federation, the Municipality of Rio Maior, Rio maior Sports Centre, the Rio Maior High School, the Portuguesese Sports Foundation, and the Ministry of Education through UAARE - Units for Support to High Performance in School.
