The Rio Maior High-Performance Swimming Centre (CAR) begins the 2025/2026 sports season with seven swimmers integrated into the high-performance program, four of whom are residing at the Training Centre.
The continuity of the Rio Maior Swimming CAR remains a priority for the partner entities involved: Desmor, Rio Maior Swimming Club, Rio Maior City Council, and the Portuguese Swimming Federation, which, as it has over the past 12 years, continues to provide its institutional support to the project.

To further strengthen its role, the Rio Maior Swimming Club has established a partnership with MVP Academy, enhancing the monitoring and development of athletes.
Over the years, the Rio Maior Swimming Club has played a decisive role in Portuguese swimming, training athletes who have stood out both nationally and internationally. Among the most recent examples are Mafalda Rosa, European Open Water Champion, and Tiago Campos, Olympian in Tokyo in the same discipline. Both were part of the Rio Maior CAR for several years, having recently ended this connection — in Mafalda's case, to pursue her studies in Viseu.
