RIO MAIOR INTERNATIONAL RACE WALKING GRAND PRIX

The 32nd edition of the Rio Maior International Race Walking Grand Prix took place on Saturday, April 12, 25, in the city's central streets. Portugal's most prestigious international race walking event returned once again, as part of the Gold Level RW Event circuit of the World Race Walking Tour, under the aegis of World Athletics.

The program included youth and promotional races, as well as the international 10 km and 20 km events. The winners of the international 20 km races were Ecuadorian athlete Paula Torres and Brazilian Caio Bonfim, who won a silver medal at last year's Paris Olympic Games. Among the Portuguese athletes, the winners were João Vieira and Inês Mendes.

In the morning, the 25 de Abril Municipal Garden hosted several activities dedicated to the senior population, promoted by the "More Sports, More Health Rio Maior" program—an initiative combining physical activity and leisure.

The event was organized by the Municipality of Rio Maior, Desmor, and the Rio Maior Swimming Club, with support from the Portuguese Athletics Federation and the Santarém Athletics Association.
