RIO MAIOR SWIMMING HIGH PERFORMANCE CENTRE

On 18th September the Rio Maior Sports Centre and the Portuguese Swimming Federation established a partnership that ensures the creation of the High Swimming Preparation Center in Rio Maior. With this collaboration Rio Maior is now the main city in Portugal for all the best new swimmers.

For one year 8 young portuguese swimmers live, study and make their preparation in Rio Maior, in a innovative project of the Portugal Swimming Federation. To then Federation President, António José Silva, this is the most important project for national swim in the next times.

In Rio Maior these swimmers can find all to respond all  the  training  needs.  Based  on  the  existent Sports  Centre  facilities  with  added  equipment.

Among the available services and equipments are HD video recording with  underwater  capabilities,  Wasa  Swim  training  ergometers, devices for athletes power and performance evaluation and the latest techonology  in  therapy  and  athlete  recuperation  (laser,  ultrasound, magneto therapy, shock waves, short waves, etc).

The  Rio  Maior  Sports  Centre  offers  athletes  services  in  Sports Medicine, Massage and Physiotherapy. We have available the services of  a  medic,  specialized  in  Sports  Medicine,  a  physiotherapist  and  masseurs.

These professionals work at an area of the Sports Center equipped with the latest therapy and recovery equipment (laser, ultrasounds, magnetotherapy, shock wave therapy and short wave therapy).
