At the Swimming World Championships held in Budapest between 14 and 30 July, Swedish swimmer Sarah Sjörström once again shone, proving that she is one of the best swimmers of her generation. In the Hungarian capital, she won three gold medals and one bronze, reaching new world records in the 50m and 100m freestyle. After that, at the World Cup held Moscow a couple of days ago, she also set a new world record in the short course 100m freestyle with 50.77s.
She is undoubtedly one of the best swimmers in history, having won 3 gold medals at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, and she has done training camps many times in Rio Maior, first in the summer of 2013 together with her peers of the Swedish national swimming team.
The Desmor Rio Maior Sports Centre regularly welcomes many teams from Northern Europe, especially from Sweden.
