On the weekend of 20-21 May, 2017, the final phase of the Women's 9-aside Youth Football Championship was held in the Sports Complex of Rio Maior.
The team of Sporting Clube de Portugal became champions by winning 3-1 against Vilaverdense in the final game on Sunday. In the previous games on Saturday Sporting won against GD APEL Madeira by 4-0 and Vilaverdense also won against the islanders by 4-0.
Sporting CP became champions for the first time, while the team from Vila Verde won in the previous two years.
The games were played on synthetic turf, and the teams were housed in the facilities of the Sports Centre. It was a great opportunity for the teams and for the Portuguese Football Federation as main organizer as in Rio Maior all the facilities are at the same place, therefore the tournament could be arranged easily with the support of Desmor.
