The Rio Maior Swimming School is back!
Sports practice is now understood as essential for promoting health, socializing and social integration, as well as an educational complement. This importance given to the practice of physical activity appears as a way to compensate for the harmful effects of the way of life in today's society, serving the three functions of leisure: rest, fun and personal development.
The changes and evolution of our society, associated with the improvement of infrastructures and the possibility of access of all age groups to physical activity, have caused the concept of swimming to be replaced, today, by the concept of aquatic activity, which is more wide and encompasses all possibilities in the aquatic environment. The possibilities that swimming pools offer are innumerable!
The Swimming School of Rio Maior develops its activity between the months of September and June (sports season) and July and August (bathing season), through the dynamization of classes of the various aspects of water activities.
Students are divided by performance levels and age groups, with classes available ranging from swimming for babies, adaptation to water, pure swimming, water polo, aqua aerobics, group swimming and rehabilitation classes (for seniors) and special swimming. During the school year there are also recreational and social activities, in order to animate and promote the practice of swimming.
In July and August, the Rio Maior Swimming School also develops all types of swimming, namely swimming for babies, adaptation to the aquatic environment, pure swimming (youth and adults, aqua aerobics and hydrotherapy).
After the completion of the swimming teaching process, anyone wishing to develop the practice of swimming in terms of competition, may join the Rio Maior Swimming Club, an entity with which Desmor, EM, SA established a cooperation protocol, which allows the integrated transition of all users to the Swimming Club, so that they can enjoy high-level specialized training and all the conditions for practicing the competition.
